A young girl tries to fit in...
Caitlyn tries to follow the Facial Expressions Chart her teacher gave her and she wishes everyone else did a better job of following it as well. She'd rather not have to bother with the chart. She'd rather have her brother, Devon, around to explain things to her. But Caitlyn has come to realize that with paying attention to that chart and all the things Devon had taught her, like how to act so kids don't laugh at her, makes life easier as a girl with Asperger's. But now Devon is dead. The shooting at the school has the whole town in shock, and Caitlyn is tired of everyone saying strange things to her. This book made me smile, laugh, and cry. I loved sharing every single minute of Caitlyn's incredible journey. And to our adult readers: forget that it is cataloged as a children's book and put it on the top of your list.
