Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto by Eric Luper With a mother who is Albany's equivalent of radio DJ Delilah, one would think that Seth Baumgartner would understand the nuances of love. However, being dumped on his lunch break and inadvertently witnessing his father getting too close and personal with a woman other than his mother within the same thirty minutes has thrown him into a state of confusion. He is then thrown into a state of poverty when he returns late to his fourth job of the summer and hears the familiar phrase "You're fired!". Needless to say, this summer is not working out as planned. With Seth's romantic demise now the favorite topic among his mother's listeners, he decides to tackle his own take on love and attempts to unlock its mysteries via his own podcast. Even though people across the world log in, download, and comment on his show, he only needs to look among his friends and family for the truth he seeks. Luper's novel presents well-drawn characters, mixes in some realistic adolescent humor, and ends with a twist that truly surprises
