A tale of obsessive love...
Enduring Love by Ian McEwan Enduring Love is a very unique novel that follows the aftermath of a random accident and the effect it has on one man, his wife, and the relationships he has with those around him. Joe and his wife Clarissa are enjoying a relaxing picnic when they suddenly witness a freak hot air balloon accident. Joe attempts to intervene to no avail and finds himself wracked with guilt when another man is killed. To top it off, another bystander named Jed develops an unhealthy fixation with Joe and is soon everpresent in his life. Enduring Love explores themes such as love, commitment, obsession, and guilt, all while constructing a tightly paced thriller.
