Meeting Rooms
The Newburyport Public Library has a number of meeting rooms for public use.
Study Rooms
The Library has two Study Rooms located on the third floor in the Technology Center area. Study Rooms are available on a first come walk-in basis for individual or small group study and quiet conversation.
- Study Rooms cannot be reserved in advance. Study Rooms are available on a walk-in basis.
- Limit of four (4) persons.
- Limit of one (1) two–hour block of time per day, with the possibility of additional time if no one else is waiting.
- Users of a Study Room must sign in at the Technology Center staff desk. Users must sign out when leaving.
- After signing in, at least one person must continuously occupy the study room during the time period. The Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- The Study Room must be left in neat, clean, and good condition. The person signing in is responsible for the condition of the room and for any damage done to the room or furnishings.
- No food or drink, or cell phone use is permitted in a Study Room
- WiFi is available in both Study Rooms.

Conference Room
The Library Conference Room is located on the third floor.
- Reservations may be made up to one month in advance by calling the Administrative Offices at (978) 465-4428 x221.
- Limit of eight (8) persons.
- Limit of one (1) three–hour block of time per day.
- Limit of one month in advance for making reservations. Advance reservations are made with the Library Secretary by calling 978–465–4428 x221.
- Users of the Conference Room must check in with staff in the Technology Center on the third floor to gain access to the Conference Room.
- After checking in, the Conference Room must be occupied by at least one person continuously during the reserved time period – the Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- The Conference Room can be used on a walk-in basis when Study Rooms are occupied and the Conference Room is available.
- Users are expected to leave the Conference Room in neat, clean, and good condition. The person signing in is responsible for the condition of the room and for any damage done to the room or furnishings

Program Room
The Program Room is a large room located on the first floor. This room has a 100 person capacity, can be set up with chairs and tables, and has wireless Internet access. Audio–visual equipment available for use includes: small white board, hand held or lapel clip microphone and sound system, and projector for use with an organization's own laptop computer. It is the responsibility of the user to have adequate knowledge and experience to use any of the equipment provided. Special set up and equipment needs must be communicated in advance when applying for use of the Program Room.
Use of the Program Room is reserved for public meetings sponsored by non–profit community organizations, City of Newburyport committees, and for Library programs. Groups wishing to use the Program Room must complete and submit an application form and indemnification agreement for approval before reserving the space.
