Meeting Rooms
The Newburyport Public Library has a number of meeting rooms for public use.
Study Rooms
Two study rooms are located in the Technology Center on the third floor.
- Limit of four (4) persons.
- Limit of one (1) three–hour block of time per day.
- Limit of one week in advance for making reservations. Advance reservations can be made by phone: 978–465–4428 x 237.
- Advance reservations can be made in the Library with staff in the Technology Center on the third floor.
- Users of a study room must sign in at the Technology Center staff desk.
- After signing in, the study room must be occupied by at least one person continuously during the reserved time period – the Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- If study room is not used within 15 minutes of scheduled reserved time, the time period may be allotted to someone else.
No food or drink, or cell phone use is permitted in a study room. Please remember to sign in.
Conference Room
A small conference room is located on the third floor.
- Limit of eight (8) persons.
- Limit of one (1) three–hour block of time per day.
- Limit of one month in advance for making reservations. Advance reservations are made with the Library Secretary by calling 978–465–4428 x221.
- Users of the Conference Room must check in with staff in the Technology Center on the third floor to gain access to the Conference Room.
- After checking in, the Conference Room must be occupied by at least one person continuously during the reserved time period – the Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- If not previously reserved, the Conference Room is available on a walk–in basis when Study Rooms are reserved or occupied.
- No food or drink, or cell phone use is permitted in a study room.
Responsibilities of Study Room and Conference Room Users
- The person who reserves and registers for the room will be held financially responsible for damage done to the room and its furnishings by anyone during the time period reserved.
- The responsible person will inspect the room prior to use and report any damage or vandalism to the room to staff at the third floor Technology Center desk.
- The person who reserves and registers for the room will be held responsible for any unreported damage.
- The room will be left in clean condition.
- No eating, drinking, or cell phone use is permitted in the room.
Program Room
The Program Room is a large room located on the first floor. This room has a 100 person capacity, can be set up with chairs and tables, and has wireless Internet access. Audio–visual equipment available for use includes: TV with DVD/VCR player, overhead projector, white board, LCD projector for use with an organization's own laptop computer, and a small portable microphone. It is the responsibility of the user to have adequate knowledge and experience to use any of the equipment provided. Special set up and equipment needs must be communicated in advance when applying for use of the Program Room.
Use of the Program Room is reserved for public meetings sponsored by non–profit community organizations, City of Newburyport committees, and for Library programs. Groups wishing to use the Program Room must complete and submit an application form and indemnification agreement for approval before reserving the space.
