Event Documentary Film Series "Last Men in Aleppo" (NR)

August 26, 2019 | 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Welcome to our summer documentary series! Every other Monday at 2:30 pm, we will be showing a highly rated documentary film. Today we are partnering with the POV Community Network to screen the 2017 film “Last Men in Aleppo” [Original title: De sidste mænd i Aleppo] (NR) directed by Feras Fayyad and Steen Johannessen.

Run time 1 hour 23 minutes.

"Syrian filmmaker Feras Fayyad's breathtaking work, a searing example of boots-on-the-ground reportage, follows the efforts of the internationally recognized White Helmets, an organization consisting of ordinary citizens who are the first to rush towards military strikes and attacks in the hope of saving lives."

This film was nominated for Best Documentary for the 2018 Academy Awards. This event is a collaboration with POV, PBS' award-winning nonfiction film series. Learn more about POV here. Please note that this is an Arabic language documentary with English subtitles.

Come and enjoy the theater-like screen and sound system with fellow film buffs. This free event will be held in the Program Room and all are welcome!

Documentary film dates for this series are July 1st & 15th and August 12th & 26th.
