For well over a century, we have turned to the movies as a social event, as a way to escape from reality, as a source of a good laugh or cry, and sometimes even as a way to experience new ideas or different perspectives of our world. Film lecturer Frank Mandosa brings you a closer look at an assortment of politically-themed dramas, thrillers, and comedies that reflect our ever-evolving national identity over the decades. Behind-the-scenes stories, as well as discussion of the zeitgeist of the times when they were originally released, all combine to provide you with food for thought about the society that we all take part in creating!
