Join us at the Newburyport Public Library for a series of presentations on various topics in local history.
Newburyport historian Ghlee Woodworth will discuss the past and present of many favorite spots around town. This presentation will include photos and stories from the late 19th century. Take a look back at Newburyport street scenes and buildings no longer standing as well as photos of many of today’s familiar landmarks. Photos of the old Pond Street railroad depot, the old YMCA on State Street, and Wolfe Tavern will be displayed. Newburyport’s amazing transformation in the 1970's and 80's will also be featured.
As this talk is expected to possibly exceed our room capacity, we will be handing out free tickets starting at 1:30 pm.
This year's history lecture series dates are February 24th, March 3rd, March 10th, and March 17th.
