Event Identifying Backyard Birds (VIRTUAL)

November 2, 2020 | 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Join us for a virtual program about identifying backyard birds with Dr. Steve Hale, owner and operator of Open World Explorers, which runs local guided birding tours. This is an engaging and interactive presentation featuring common and likely resident and migrant visitors to any backyard in New England. This presentation offers ID tips on some challenging birds that live among us like the Hairy vs. Downy Woodpecker and Purple vs. House Finch. Tips on feeding birds to attract the most diversity are also provided. The presentation is set up as a bird-quiz, and audience members love to test their own knowledge.

This event will be held on Zoom. Register online by clicking here or by calling 978-465-4428 x 242. A link will be emailed to participants the morning of the program.

Steve Hale holds university degrees in marine biology, evolutionary biology, and ecology. He has lived in New Hampshire over 20 years and has explored most of the state. An avid hiker, birder, and experienced naturalist, Steve loves to share his experience and knowledge with others.
