The Newburyport Public Library and the Amesbury Public Library are excited to be collaborating on a four part lecture series on Anti-Racism and Liberation.
Join us for an evening with Dr. Kate Slater to learn about anti-racism. Dr. Slater will discuss how she confronted her own Whiteness, as well as provide attendees with a framework to understand terms like “colorblind racism” “anti-Blackness” and “White supremacy”. We will also discuss how to begin the process of deconstructing the racialized conditioning that White people have been exposed to for much of their lives. The session will finish with a Q&A. This is the first lecture in this four part series.
