Marcia Karp has taught at BU and several other Boston area universities. She writes literary criticism for The Arts Fuse, Boston's online arts magazine. Her translations and poems have appeared in The Word Exchange (translations from the Anglo-Saxon, Norton, 2010), Penguin Books’ Catullus in English and Petrarch in English, The Times Literary Supplement, Ploughshares, Harvard Review, Agenda, Literary Imagination, The Guardian, Partisan Review, and Joining Music with Reason: 34 Poets, British and American, Oxford 2004-2009 (Waywiser, 2010). Karp uses her skills as a translator, critic, and poet to produce innovative formal poems.
Johnny Longfellow has served for 20 years as a mentor to Newburyport, MA high school students through the Poetry Soup reading program. He is the editor of the poetry and visuals gallery BAD ACID LABORATORIES, INC. His own poetry has appeared in journals devoted to formal verse, such as The Barefoot Muse, The Road Not Taken, and The Rotary Dial, and in other small-press publications, including The Five Two, Horror Sleaze Trash, The Literary Hatchet, and Pigpenn. Longfellow's poems often spring from keen observation of the less-privileged side of American life.
